This package is perfect for couples looking for an evening only celebration, with an evening buffet, reception drink, the Honeymoon Suite for the bride and groom, and hire of the Cumberland Suite.

The Orangery dressed for a ceremony

We are pleased to offer you a venue to hold your civil wedding ceremony. Our beautiful restaurant, The Orangery, combines elegance with contemporary style. The marble flooring and soaring sea views combine to provide a perfect venue for the start of your perfect day.

The Orangery is fully licensed to house civil wedding ceremonies. Eighty guests can be seated comfortably, so this is the suggested limit, although you can have some guests standing if you wish.

Brides enter from a private patio entrance at the back of The Orangery and walk down the marble aisle through their waiting guests, coming to rest in front of the Registrar in our bay window with a beautiful sea view.

After the ceremony, the balcony in front of The Orangery is a perfect setting for photographs, or the front steps of the hotel, or there are the wide expanses of the Oval lawns and the bandstand opposite, and even the beach below.

We provide a pedestal of flowers which will be themed to complement your colour scheme, and will add that final touch to the room.

We also have a sound system which can play your choice of music throughout, or we can arrange live music, and have a list of recommended pianists, harpists, saxophonists and guitarists who can accompany you.

Room hire for the ceremony is £375 from Sunday to Friday, or £450 for a Saturday ceremony. If you are having our Excellence package, this room hire is included in your package.

If you are holding your ceremony from October to March (excluding the Christmas period and Valentine’s Day), we offer a £150 discount on the room hire prices.

Our brigade of chefs are committed to using fresh, local produce, and don’t believe in buying in anything that we can make ourselves. Our meat comes from the Butcher of Brogdale in Faversham, our vegetables and eggs are from Nash Farm in Margate, our fish from a Margate boat or from Fruits de Mer in Broadstairs. Our bread is from the Krusty Kobb bakery at the top of the road, and our dairy comes from the Kent Dairy Company.

We believe in supporting our local suppliers, and this allows us to cook using only the finest ingredients that Kent has to offer. Everything in the kitchen is made freshly in house, meaning that we can offer a much greater flexibility with our menus, so if you have any specific dietary requirements or menu preferences, it will be our pleasure to accommodate them. All our dishes can be made gluten free, dairy free, and we can provide a number of options for vegans or any other guests with specific requirements. Allergen information is available on request - please speak to your wedding co-ordinator.

We offer a choice of menus for your wedding day, which match perfectly with the packages that you choose.

If you are choosing our Economy package, you can choose soup as a starter, any choice of main course from the Economy menu, and ice cream or sorbet for dessert.

Our children’s menu, which offers ever-popular children’s meals, is available no matter which package that you choose. If you are choosing our Elegance or Excellence package, and choosing from Menu 1, you can give children a small version of the adults’ main course.

If you are choosing our Elegance or Excellence package, you can choose from either Menu 1 or Menu 2, or our Presentation Buffet.

Menu 1 is our standard menu, offering a range of our most popular dishes. You can pick two starters, two main courses (plus a vegetarian) and two desserts, which you can then offer to your guests.

Menu 2 is our gourmet menu, with our finest quality dishes on offer. To make this more of a gala menu, we include a fourth course (soup or sorbet) which is served after the starter, and you can pick three starters, three main courses (plus a vegetarian), and three desserts.

The Presentation Buffet offers a served starter and dessert along with a buffet table full of a range of hot and cold dishes for guests to help themselves. Again, you choose two starters and desserts for your guests.

All menus include tea and coffee served to your table after the meal.

We offer a range of different buffet options for your evening reception. If you have chosen the Economy package, you can have our hog roast buffet, or you can choose the dishes from our Economy buffet menu for an extra £399.

If you have chosen the Excellence package or the Evening Buffet package, you can choose from the Standard buffet menu or the ever-popular hog roast package.

If you have chosen the Elegance package, you can add an evening buffet for £11.95 per person if you choose from the Economy finger buffet, or £14.95 per person if you choose from the Standard finger buffet or the hog roast.

No matter which package you have selected, you can choose to add any number of additional platters, which are all priced individually.

We offer a range of extras before your day. The Bride's Night gives the bride and her bridesmaids, friends and family the chance to pamper and relax before the wedding day. Alternatively, we can become the Groom's Refuge, where he can come to give the bride some space, and relax on the day before the wedding.

We also have a number of bedrooms that you can offer to your guests at a discount, and also offer an exclusive use option so that you can have use of every hotel bedroom for your guests.
